    *Beautiful* scenery, campgrounds, and cabins!
Seriously, the scenery is to die for.
It's hard to get resos; you have to look almost the max of 6 months ahead to reserve. 7 camping spots and around 10 cabins. The cabins a nice fireplace for a fire even in foggy norcal evenings.

    Tent sites:
    1. Cliffside with a view of Stinson Beach and the cabins.

    2. Neighbors 3 if you have a group. My least favorite, but there's shade.

    3. A nice tree in the middle of camp. Next door to 2, and 4 is visible.

    4. Amazing souther view Closest to cliffs.

    5. Just inland from the first 4, but up the hill so it has its own view. Fun granite features in camp.

    6. Largest site. The only that will fit 2 large tents. No shade, further up the hill, but still a great view.

MAGICAL!!! Its a pristine, calm and gorgeous place to visit and stay. We stayed in Cabin #5. One of the most amazing places, we have stayed. Very hard to get a booking. Has a wonderful beach, bench next to cabin to look over Pacific. You can hear the waves thundering in the night. Amazing views of sunset and sunrise. A Must visit place.

What an underrated quiet adventurous spot right off #highway1. The cabins and the campground is absolutely worth it. Memories for a lifetime!

WOW. Highly recommended. Check the wait list for day-of slots. Makes the perfect spontaneous weeknight adventure, can make it back to SF in time for work the next day!

Absolutely gorgeous, magical place. Beautiful and serene. I found that no chore felt like a chore. Washing dishes? No problem as you scrub and look out onto the Pacific. Restroom run up the hill or packing and unpacking the car? Great! Striking canyon views walking up and the powerful pacific walking back down. Dozens upon dozens of pelicans flying overhead. The sound of waves crashing upon the shores. We went into Stinson for dinner on the two evenings we stayed but next time will likely meal prep for ALL meals so we can fully immerse ourselves into the biorhythms of the place while avoiding the crowds at Stinson.

A few things that would make a stay even better: curtains (we used towels and sheets as improvised curtains), a nice table cloth, candles (rather than a harsh LED lamp), extra kindling or duraflame logs to get fires going with ease, and perhaps an extra cooler to store food as there was a very cute but persistent mouse in cabin 8 that went after anything left out (we ended up hanging food bags off the chains coming down from the ceilings intended for lamps).

The cabins, or for the very hardy the campsites, at Steep Ravine are a great public treasure and while I am tempted to be greedy and not share this advice I feel compelled to encourage the public to make the effort to partake of this amazing experience even if just once!
