  Allen is extremely kind and knowledgeable about his instruments. He is a true craftsman and musician and really understands the instruments. He is incredibly fair in pricing and I would venture to say, generous! I had a wonderful experience purchasing from him and plan to again in the future.

  Great Experience - Had a lovely experience with Allen. We needed a good violin for international travel and we plan to donate it when we are in Haiti to the musicians there. Allen helped us select a fine instrument and one that will also fill the musicians there with joy. Not only did he help us out but he helps out other groups so when you do business with him you are helping out others. I great luthier who helps others out. A win-win.

  What a lovely experience meeting and working with Allen! He was kind, knowledgeable, and generous with his time and expertise. We came in looking for a violin for a Kenyan colleague's 7 year old daughter who had been dreaming of having one in a country where a violin would be very hard to come by. Allen patiently helped us settle on a beautiful and affordable instrument certain to thrill its recipient. Beyond this, he treated us to a tour of his work and display spaces, providing an incredible peek into this amazing man's multi-layered passion for stringed instruments. We felt so grateful for this entire experience, and would recommend Sound and Fury Violins without reservation.

  Allen repaired my 200-year-old violin. The bridge was broken, and the seams had split. He replaced the bridge, repaired the seams and gave it a general “tune-up.” Allen is very knowledgeable, professional and passionate about his work. He’s also just an exceptionally nice guy. My violin looks and sounds great. He did the repairs quickly and at a very reasonable price. I couldn’t be happier. I will certainly come back to Allen next time I need new instrument or repair!
